Game Rules and Basic Mechanics
Baccarat is a comparing card game played between a player and a banker. The objective is to achieve a hand value closest to nine. Each card carries a point value: cards two through nine are worth their face value, tens and face cards count as zero, and aces equal one point. The hand value is calculated by adding card values and using only the last digit of the total.
In each round, both the player and banker receive two cards initially. If either hand totals eight or nine, the round ends immediately with that hand winning. Otherwise, predetermined rules govern whether additional cards are drawn. These drawing rules apply automatically and cannot be modified, making baccarat a game of pure chance with minimal player decision-making regarding card play.
